Our Gingerbread Village

Yesterday we made gingerbread houses and built a little gingerbread village! I got this kit from Target, which was perfect, since it includes a little house for each kid, plus one for Mommy and Daddy. Mini houses didn't mean any less of a mess...but we did wait for Daddy's day off so we could have some extra hands to help :)

It's fun to see his personality: he's very precise, wanting to get the candy in the exact right places.

More candy may or may not have been consumed instead of making it onto Maddie's house...



Since we had decorated gingerbread people recently, the kids were confused as to why they couldn't eat their gingerbread houses. We had to explain to them that they were meant to be displayed, and plus, this gingerbread didn't taste very good. But don't worry- we let them eat another {yummy} gingerbread cookie when we were all done decorating the houses :)
