{iPhone Rewind} :: February

We had our insect unit in science, and Eli pulled out his bug set that Grandma and Papa got him from the zoo and matched every single one to the library book to find out each of the names :)

"Just Because" flowers from Mike

We were gifted a whole bag of fun books from Mrs. Stephanie in our community group, and it was like Christmas! :)

We have been working hard on our reading!

I got a sweet banner for my birthday :)

Sunrise on my way home from a walk with a friend #nofilter

Marriage Date Night with friends! We got to hear music from Jonny Diaz and laugh with Amberly Neese and Leland Klassen.

Flowers from my Valentine :)

Library day as homeschoolers haha

I hosted the pastor/staff wives for our biannual brunch and made some yummy oatmeal muffins

He lost 2 teeth in 2 days!

Spelling test day ;)

Focusing hard on those buttons...

He started writing stories on his own and wanted to know how to spell all the words. I love the massive, all-page lettering :)

It's Blippi-Aiden!

Deuteronomy 6:5-9

Maddie and I were sick, but the boys got to serve again at Generosity Feeds! I got so many reports of how hard they worked, and I'm so thankful that we have opportunities to serve as a family.

Math time!

Library day is our favorite day :)

Maddie drew a picture for our women's Bible study and it just makes my heart happy :)

Mom and Dad

This post gets the Mom and Dad label {instead of the Grandma and Papa label} because my parents came for my birthday! {And yes, I know they also came- mostly- for the grandkids...but I'll take the birthday love wherever I can haha} ;)

This visit coincided with my birthday, which was fun because I got to celebrate with them. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and, of course, cheesecake, and it was just fun to have them here. And of course, the kids didn't mind having another week off from school to just play and have fun!

We had a day or two of warm{ish} weather, so we were able to go on walks and play at the playground. We even got to play a few rounds of Pooh Sticks at our neighborhood pond haha {I'll let you guess who loves that game}.

We headed into D.C. for a day to visit the National Museum of Natural History. The kids have been wanting to visit "the museum with the dinosaurs," so we finally made the trip.  It was a fun day! It got a bit crowded with all the school field trips, but thankfully we were able to see all the exhibits we wanted to and finish up before it got too bad. And most importantly, we saw the dinosaurs!

The rest of the week was spent playing games, reading books, crafting, and just having fun with Grandma and Papa. The one thing Aiden requested to do with Papa? Play army men! So they set up all their troops and had some epic battles :) And it was pretty cute to watch Papa and Eli plan.

We also got to watch the Super Bowl together. We let the kids watch a little of the game, and they actually thought it was super fun. The big entertaining part of the evening? Watching how excited Aiden got at watching the football game! The kid could barely contain his excitement. He hasn't been able to stop talking about football since; he tells me about how he dreams about it haha. To say he loved watching the Super Bowl is an understatement :)

And we even got a short few hours of snow {even a bit more than what is pictured here}. It was just enough for Grandma to catch snowflakes on her tongue with her granddaughter and throw snowballs at her grandsons. It didn't stick around very long, but it was enough to enjoy about an hour of snow fun and create some cute memories.

I'm so thankful for another fun trip with Grandma and Papa. As I look back over these memories, I am grateful that we have so many of these trips over the past year; I realize what a gift that is. I know it may not always be possible to have so many, but I will cherish every one we get. And I know my kids do too. Thank you, mom and dad for another week of fun and memories! We love you, and we miss you!

Happy Love Day!

We got to celebrate Valentine's Day with Grandma and Papa here, which was fun and special, so there were plenty of Valentines and chocolate to go around.

We are learning Spanish this year in school, so our Valentines were in Spanish this year! :)

Granny sent some fun Valentine mail: she sent all the supplies we needed to make fun animal Valentines! The kids definitely enjoyed making all the fun animals and couldn't wait to show them off.

We are thankful for all the love today, and that we got to share that love with so many!
