Spring Wrap Up

We have had a really fun spring! We didn't get everything crossed off our list {surprise!}, but we got several bonus items added, so surely it all evens out :)

Visit the Heard Museum- definitely dropped the ball on this one. And I'm pretty sure my membership has expired. Oops.
Splash in Some Puddles- we have had lots of rainy days...but we just didn't make it to splash in some puddles. Oh well. Label me the un-fun mom.
Find a Field of Bluebonnets- someday we will get the iconic bluebonnet photos...
Take Family Photos- we were supposed to do this with a professional photographer as a gift for Granny, but the session got pushed off to later.

Go on Some Adventures with Cousins:

BONUS FUN:
Water Table Fun - so, Splashing in Some Puddles Water...that counts, right?

Blase Family Farm

Today we went blueberry picking! I have been wanting to do some kind of berry picking, so I have been watching all the local farms, trying to figure out the best time and place to go. Turns out the whole berry-picking process can be tricky to time. Slots fill up fast at a lot of places, and after the fun we had today, I totally understand why!

When Laura suggested blueberries at Blase Family Farm, we were more than excited to go. Thankfully, you don't have to sign up for a time slot with them, but you just have to watch for when they're open, as they post their open days/times as the season progresses.

The toddlers got their own buckets and were happy to walk the path to the blueberry patch. Today was the perfect day for blueberry picking: not too crowded and not too hot! We even had one row in the patch {almost} all to ourselves.

Eli and Maddie LOVED picking blueberries! We had to remind them to only pick the blue ones, but eventually they caught on, and they loved filling their little buckets with yummy blueberries. We still ended up with some unripe ones...but it was actually better than I expected haha.

Love these two

Sweet friends

Aiden was there too...he just had to enjoy watching his brother and sister pick the blueberries. But he was ok with his bottle :)

Eli and Maddie were so proud of their blueberries! I wanted to carry them back to the front to weigh and pay for them, because I was afraid they'd trip and fall {the path was uneven and full of obstacles} and lose their blueberries. But they insisted. Well, mommy should have insisted because that's exactly what happened haha. Thankfully we were able to salvage most of them :)

At least Maddie is smiling and aware of what a photo is :)

We headed back to the front to pay for our blueberries and enjoy some lunch. We ate on the picnic tables under the trees and then let the toddlers run around for a bit to release energy. And of course, we couldn't pass up the blueberry popsicles!

Even Aiden got a taste :)

We had so much fun picking blueberries and playing with friends! Now we get to eat the fruits of our labor :)

Definitely could have been worse, ratio-wise on the ripe/non-ripe blueberries :)

Fun-Filled Saturday-O-Fun

Yesterday we had an epic Saturday of fun! We didn't plan to have such a jam-packed day of events, but it just happened that way. And while it was definitely a long, full day, it was a FUN day filled with family and making memories.

Eli and Maddie are taking swim lessons again this summer, so we are trying to spend some time at our neighborhood pool to get them used to it again. So we decided to head to the pool for an early morning swim! Eli and Maddie were not really interested in taking a dip in the pool...so we have a little work to do over the next couple of weeks. But they enjoyed playing in the splash area!

She moved too fast and the photo got cut off, but I LOVE this sweet smile!

And it was also Aiden's first trip to the pool, and he absolutely LOVED it! He loved splashing in the water, and I'm pretty sure he had the most fun of anyone :)

My cousin has boy/girl twins, and they are in town, so we had a fun play date planned with them. After Aiden took his morning nap, we got back into our swimsuits and headed to the splash pad! We were completely surprised that no one else was there, so we had it all to ourselves the whole time we were there. Which was SO awesome! The kiddos could play and splash unhindered until their little hearts were content :)

How is my baby girl not a baby anymore???

And again, Aiden loved the water and had the time of his life! He had no fear of the fountains/sprays and just wanted to splash and play non-stop. He would splash and play in one fountain and then crawl over to the next. We had to hold him back so he didn't drink too much of the water or get sprayed too hard haha.

We headed back to the house for lunch and naps. While the kiddos were napping, we got a call from Aunt Lindsay saying they were going to meet Granny and Grumpz out at Main Event for some bowling. So we decided to continue our crazy fun day with another outing. At least this one was dry and inside :)

Maddie had a TON of fun bowling with her cousins. She loved the bowling shoes, the bowling balls, watching her ball hit the pins, the pretzel snack I gave her...she was pretty content haha. Eli struggled a bit with the whole concept. It was busy and loud and highly overstimulating in the bowling alley. It had been a long day already, so the idea of only getting to bowl with 2 balls and then having to wait for everyone else to bowl before he got to bowl again was pretty hard for him.

I told her to smile. And I got this.  But she sure looks cute in her bowling shoes :)

Her shorts were glowing and she thought that was pretty fun!

Eli did a little better as long as Daddy was right by his side.

And Aiden was pretty happy with his water cup and Aunt Lindsay :)

We had dinner at Hat Creek Burger to round out our Fun-Filled Saturday-O-Fun. We got home well after bed time, with some pretty tired babies. But I think overall it was a super fun and epic day. Definitely full of sweet smiles and memories!
