Blase Family Farm

Today we went blueberry picking! I have been wanting to do some kind of berry picking, so I have been watching all the local farms, trying to figure out the best time and place to go. Turns out the whole berry-picking process can be tricky to time. Slots fill up fast at a lot of places, and after the fun we had today, I totally understand why!

When Laura suggested blueberries at Blase Family Farm, we were more than excited to go. Thankfully, you don't have to sign up for a time slot with them, but you just have to watch for when they're open, as they post their open days/times as the season progresses.

The toddlers got their own buckets and were happy to walk the path to the blueberry patch. Today was the perfect day for blueberry picking: not too crowded and not too hot! We even had one row in the patch {almost} all to ourselves.

Eli and Maddie LOVED picking blueberries! We had to remind them to only pick the blue ones, but eventually they caught on, and they loved filling their little buckets with yummy blueberries. We still ended up with some unripe ones...but it was actually better than I expected haha.

Love these two

Sweet friends

Aiden was there too...he just had to enjoy watching his brother and sister pick the blueberries. But he was ok with his bottle :)

Eli and Maddie were so proud of their blueberries! I wanted to carry them back to the front to weigh and pay for them, because I was afraid they'd trip and fall {the path was uneven and full of obstacles} and lose their blueberries. But they insisted. Well, mommy should have insisted because that's exactly what happened haha. Thankfully we were able to salvage most of them :)

At least Maddie is smiling and aware of what a photo is :)

We headed back to the front to pay for our blueberries and enjoy some lunch. We ate on the picnic tables under the trees and then let the toddlers run around for a bit to release energy. And of course, we couldn't pass up the blueberry popsicles!

Even Aiden got a taste :)

We had so much fun picking blueberries and playing with friends! Now we get to eat the fruits of our labor :)

Definitely could have been worse, ratio-wise on the ripe/non-ripe blueberries :)
