{iPhone Rewind} :: September

I sure love this little girl :)

He's cute, and he knows it.

We're ready for the mountains!

We're going to look super cute in the mountains!

We met some friends at Klyde Warren Park and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Eli loved playing with the soccer ball!

I woke up one morning to Eli playing with diaper pads in his crib...he was pretty content and proud of himself!

I love that they are starting to play together more :)

We have a standing baby!

I got another day off and came home to flowers from my loves...not a bad deal :)

Trying to keep everyone distracted while I make dinner...

She's cute and she knows it...

Those baby blues!!

Enjoying BBQ and rockin' the baby hair sprig :)

My clear-liquid diet to prep for my colonoscopy...silly Crohns.

She has the BEST bed head :)

Mountain Babies

This weekend we headed to Crested Butte, Colorado to visit the Winns! If you'll remember, Eli's middle name is "Winn," so this sweet family means a lot to us. It was so fun to see good friends, and so sweet to have Eli and Maddie spend time with them.

It was a little nerve-wracking for me to make such a big trip with 10.5 month old twins. I spent weeks {yes. Type A, remember?} planning and thinking through all possible scenarios. It was their first flight, so we prepared as best we could and then it was go time :)

Waiting for our plane to arrive

Leaving our mark :)

Family selfie {before they separated us}

Eli and Maddie did SO well! Neither had napped all day and were just so excited to be on the plane. We distracted them with new toys and snacks, and then they both ended up passing out about 20 minutes before we landed.

We flew into Montrose and then had a 2 hour drive through the mountains to Crested Butte. It was a LONG day of travel, and we were all glad to finally make it to our final destination. But overall, it was a better day than we could have imagined, and we are so thankful for how the Lord took care of us all.

Unfortunately, I started feeling "off" that evening, and things quickly spiraled. I was battling altitude sickness and ended up taking a trip to the ER. My poor hubby had to drive me down the mountain at 1 a.m. to get to a lower altitude and get some fluids and anti-nausea medication. Needless to say, it was a LONG night {after a long day of travel}. But thankfully, we were able to get the sickness under control. It still took a couple of days for my body to adjust, and I had to take it easy, but I am so thankful for all the extra hands to help take care of babies, and for all the help we received to help me feel better. And for my hubby, who endured yet another ER visit with me...

Getting some extra oxygen

Despite the craziness of being sick, we were still able to enjoy our trip. I definitely had to take it easy, and we probably didn't get to do as much as we had hoped to do, but we had a lot of sweet time as a family and with Scott and Claire. Which was the whole point of the trip anyway :)

Namesake.

Sarah came into town for a couple of days, and it was fun to see her too!

Oh man...Mrs. Claire was Eli's favorite.

We even enjoyed some time with Hershey :)

It's just absolutely beautiful in Crested Butte. Scott and Claire have an absolutely amazing view! The weather was changing while we were there, so it was getting colder. The leaves were changing, and they were just the most beautiful shades of gold.

Not a bad view for a few days :)

We were able to get out for a little family "hike." It ended up being too cold and windy to stay, but not before we snapped a few photos!

We had such a sweet time in Crested Butte. It was definitely hard to keep up with babies in a new place, as we were not on our home turf, in our baby-proofed, gate-enclosed space :) And the altitude made it so much harder for me to keep up with exploring babies. So we were definitely exhausted by the end of the trip. But overall, it was a great trip, and we are so thankful for the time we got to spend with Scott and Claire. We had so many sweet family moments, and we are thankful for the opportunity we had to visit CB.

So now Eli and Maddie's first plane ride and out-of-state trip are in the books! :)

FET Consult

Today I had a consult with my RE to discuss the protocol for our next frozen embryo transfer! There were not any surprises; we have done 3 transfers before. It all seemed so familiar.

But it was so exciting to be discussing the details of adding to our family! We have decided to transfer 1 embryo this time, instead of 2 {like we have done in the past}. You know, to lower our chances for another set of twins :)

So we are all set. I just have to get past my colonoscopy on Friday {totally unrelated}, and then we'll be able to start our next transfer cycle! :)

Mock Transfer + Hysteroscopy

Today I had my mock transfer and hysteroscopy for {hopefully} baby #3! :)

I have had a mock transfer before, which is basically just a "practice run" for the actual transfer. It helps the doctor create a road map so there are no surprises on the day of the transfer. The hardest part is the full bladder :)

We did the mock first, and then she let me pee {thankfully!} before we did the hysteroscopy. This was my third HSC {first was while I was under anesthesia with my laparoscopy, and the second was before we did our first transfer in 2015}. I was expecting this one to be uncomfortable, but it actually wasn't that bad! It's basically a chance for the doctor to look inside your uterus to make sure it's a good home for embryos.

And the best news? I got the all clear for a transfer! I will admit that I was bracing myself for having to do another laparoscopy. But everything looked good, and we have an FET consult set for September 26. I would have done it sooner, but we're getting ready to head out to Crested Butte, so I had to wait until we got back :)

At this rate, we will be able to do a transfer at the end of October, end of November!!

Spaghetti Faces

We introduced Eli and Maddie to spaghetti this week, and they LOVED it! And of course, it was just as messy as we expected it to be :)

And yes...this is an entire post dedicated to photos of our babies covered in spaghetti :)
