Decorating Christmas Cookies!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about all the ways that Chantilly Bible Church has made us feel welcome and at home. We have had countless offers to dinner, and this sweet church family has done so many things to take care of our family. Dropping off groceries when we arrived in Virginia, offering warm clothes for our kids, offering to lend us any and all things Christmas {tree, Nativity set, snow shovels, sleds}, and even offering ovens so we could bake Christmas cookies {since we don't have one in our extended stay hotel}. It's all so incredibly generous and kind, and we are so thankful to be a part of this new church family.

Because the COVID cases are rising and we have seen some cases in the church, we had to decline the offers to use ovens {to maintain social distancing}, but that didn't stop the generosity. Our sweet pastor's wife offered to bake us cookies and drop them off for our kiddos to decorate! It was so kind, and such a sweet blessing to our family. So we got to decorate Christmas cookies!

She baked us SO many cookies!

She made us sugar cookies {in all the fun Christmas shapes} and gingerbread people, and the kids had a blast decorating their cookies. Of course, they just wanted to get as much icing and sprinkles on those cookies so they could EAT them. There may or may not have been a massive sugar rush {and subsequent crash}  :)

He's got the right idea: start decorating another cookie while you have one in your mouth :)

We are so thankful to Mrs. Val for taking the time to bake cookies for our family and drop them off for us to decorate. We have been blown away by the generosity and care toward our family; we have felt so loved!
