Summer Bucket List :: Road Trip to See Grandma and Grandpa

This weekend we made a road trip to San Antonio to see Grandma and Grandpa! We made the trek down south last summer around this time; in some ways, this year was easier, but long car trips are just hard on little ones in general. We want to make more trips to see family, but we definitely realize it will be MUCH easier when all the babies are older :)

Forewarning: major photo dump ahead!

Mike had to work on Friday morning, so we decided we would eat lunch at home and then head out during nap time.

On our way to see Grandma and Grandpa!

Recreating Maddie's "driving" photos from last summer haha

We fully expected Eli and Maddie to fall asleep on the car ride. Yeah...that definitely did not happen haha. So it was a bit of a rough ride, but they really did fairly well, considering. We made it in to San Antonio for a little later dinner than usual, and we were all ready to grab a good night's sleep before all the fun weekend activities began.

We had just seen my parents and brother, so Eli and Maddie had a treat to have so much family time back to back! And they were basically in heaven :)  With all the snuggles and play time, my kiddos had a BLAST all weekend.

This girlie has developed quite the attachment to Grandma...

...seriously. She didn't leave my mom's side the WHOLE weekend haha.

Tiny soccer fan :)

Reunited and it feels so good!

Watching the rain come in with Grandpa

Uncle Michael is pretty much the coolest

On Saturday, we went to visit my grandparents {Eli and Maddie's great grandparents}. I'm sad I didn't get any photos this time; Eli and Maddie were being a little shy...though they did warm up enough to offer high fives to my patient grandparents. We then headed to a fun new Mexican restaurant, where my kiddos proceeded to eat their weight in fajitas!

Serious about her menu choices...

Maddie continued her nap strike for the second day in a row, but then quickly forgot all her nap time stress/worries when Grandma took her and Eli outside to play in the rain! They just had so much fun running around in the rain, splashing in the water. They were SO upset when they had to come inside haha.

Sunday was another full day of fun! From bowling and bbq to bubbles and being sprayed by the garden hose, it was just a jam-packed day of grandparents and uncles spoiling our babies in the best kind of way :)

We filled the weekend with so many fun memories, and we are so thankful for the sweet family time. It's crazy to think that our next trip to San Antonio will be with all 3 babies! :)
