7 years.
7 years ago, we said "I do." We promised to love and encourage and support each other. We celebrated with family and friends, and we had so much hope and joy as we looked forward to our lives together. We were young and in love and rested haha.
Look at those young, fresh faces :)
Fast forward 7 years, and we are still working to love and encourage and support each other. We're not perfect at it, but we are thankful for grace and new mercies every day. We aren't quite as young, and certainly not as rested {hello wrinkles!}, but we are more in love today than the day we said "I do." Not because we have a perfect, blissful marriage, but because we have the benefit of time, commitment, sacrifice, and forgiveness. And a whole lot of God's loving grace.
With little ones, we have found it harder to have date nights out. They have been few and far between, so when they happen, we are really thankful! A couple of weeks ago, we were able to sneak away to celebrate our anniversary, and it was such a sweet time. We enjoyed a yummy dinner at Scuzzi's Italian Restaurant, ice cream at Marble Slab, and got to see Won't You Be My Neighbor? Having uninterrupted conversation and just being able to enjoy being OUT was just such a blessing. Life-giving for my heart, for sure.
{On a side note: after watching the Mr. Rogers documentary, we decided that our kids are not allowed to watch any television, except for old episodes of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood haha}
A few more wrinkles and smile lines :)
I am forever grateful for this man and the gift he is to me. I love our life together, and I can't imagine walking through life's mountains and valleys with anyone else. And there's no one else with whom I'd rather get old and wrinkled :)
Looking forward to what the Lord has for us in the next 7 years!
