Today is National Ice Cream Day!
Full disclosure: I totally didn't know it haha. We had planned to go get snow cones at Murphy's Island, a local stand here in Melissa {which is on our summer bucket list}. But the stand was closed for some reason, so we were forced to settle for ice cream instead :)
Apparently they even said something about National Ice Cream Day at the ice cream place, but I didn't hear it. So we enjoyed our ice cream, and I found out well after the fact. So... yay for celebrating silly national holidays by accident!?! Ha!
So excited about all the flavors :)
Trying Daddy's ice cream
Trying Grandma's ice cream
We went to Everything Ice Cream in Anna; it was such a fun place! We love supporting local businesses, and we will definitely be frequenting this little parlor. The really fun part is that they run an ice cream truck in the surrounding neighborhoods, including ours. We haven't caught them in the neighborhood yet, but we look forward to this fun small-town amenity :)
Eli and Maddie LOVED the ice cream. They loved having their own cup to eat from, and they probably would have eaten more if I hadn't cut them off! We thought that they would be too full to eat dinner, but they proved us wrong and were able to eat both ice cream and dinner within an hour of each other.
No words...just shovels more ice cream
"I LOVE it. I LOVE ice cream!"
Aiden thought this adventure was a total bust and wanted to know where his ice cream was. Sorry buddy...not yet.
We love ice cream and celebrating National Ice Cream Day! :)
