Strawberry Picking, Year 5

One of my favorite traditions: picking strawberries! This was our 5th year to visit Wegmeyer Farms, and it was a great day for strawberry picking. We were going to wait until we finished school, but looking at the weather and our schedule...it worked out best for us to go today, so we loaded up and made the trip!

The weather was perfect and the strawberries were in peak season! The kids have had lots of practice picking the best, most ripe strawberries, so we came home with some really great ones. And it was really fun to hear them talk while we searched for the best ones... "Mommy, remember when we came and it was SO muddy?" or "Mommy, remember when the cicadas were all over the plants and were SO loud??"  :)

I absolutely love this tradition, and that our sweet friends introduced us to it our first summer in Virginia. I have watched our babies grow up in this strawberry patch, and I look forward to many more years to come!
