Grandma came in last week to visit! Mike was out of town, so it was nice to have some extra help with the kiddos while he was away. And when Grandma is in town, ALL the fun stuff happens: LEGOS and animals and tracks and cars/trucks and games and coloring and books! :)
Papa joined us over the weekend, while Mike and I snuck away for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. To say they had a blast with both Grandma and Papa was an understatement! When Mike and I got back from our trip, we had a couple of extra days with my parents, and we packed in even more fun things before they left. We spent one hot afternoon with some water sprayers and beach balls, and you would have thought we had taken the kids to Disney World :) They had SO much fun! It took a little bit for them to get the hang of how to fill and work them, but once they got the hang of it, the giggles just didn't stop. Of course, it's super fun to get Grandma and Papa and Mommy and Daddy wet!
On their last full day here, we headed out to Great Country Farms in Bluemont, Virginia. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I have to say that I was totally blown away at how much there was to do there! There were multiple playscapes, farm animals, tractors, a ninja challenge course, tunnels, and so much more we didn't even get to see/do. And since we went in the middle of the week, we had a lot of the place to ourselves for a lot of the time.
Our favorite small-town ice cream shop was just around the corner from the farm, so of course we HAD to stop and enjoy some ice cream before heading back :)
And then on their last day, we took Grandma back and introduced Papa to our library's outdoor story time. It was fun to see Grandma and Papa sing and dance with the kiddos, and, of course, the kids thought that was just so fun :)
We had such a fun week with Grandma and Papa, and there have already been quite a few little crocodile tears in saying goodbye. But we are so thankful for the sweet, extended time with them, just being able to share our life here with them. And we are really looking forward to their next visit!
