We started off May with colds, so we were a little slow getting outside, but once all the kids recovered, we did our best to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We also had a lot more rainy days, but we still did our best!
We enjoyed more meals/snacks outside on our deck, as well as playing outside in our backyard and at the church playground. It's nice that we can just head outside for a bit to run off energy, and/or get a quick change of scenery.
Eli helping Aiden on the swing...such a good big brother!
Cutie girl
I love how my little city kids are excited about finding ants :)
We found a toad in our backyard
This little guy was probably scared out of his mind with 3 little people so close to him haha
We had an outdoor dinner with a deacon in our church and his family, and they had an amazing backyard. The kids had a blast running around and exploring! And of course, picking up sticks :)
We were up at the church playground, and we got to see the new goslings! They came right up to the playground fence, and the kids were so excited to see the babies.
We met some friends out at the Stone Bridge at Manassas National Battlefield Park. We walked the loop trail, counted toads, stopped to admire centipedes, searched for minnows, and had a grand time exploring. It was the perfect little hike, and we will definitely go back.
We also got to spend some more time at Frying Pan Farm Park. The kids love seeing the animals and then walking the trail around the farm. It's nice during the week, because it's not very crowded, so the kids have a lot of free reign to roam.
Eli was so excited about the tractor!
The big male turkey kept puffing out his chest, and stomping at us, definitely warning us to keep back. The kids thought it was hilarious {but they did take a few steps back}.
They were excited about the Nature Trail...not so much the photo Mommy made them take :)
We are still enjoying all the fruits and flowers and plants that are blooming all over. There's just so much variety!
