The Kids' First Beach Trip!

We were able to take the kids to the beach for a few days, which was our first time to a beach in this area, and the kids' first trip to a beach ever!

A sweet member of our church allowed us to stay at her beach home near Fenwick Island in Delaware. We spent our time on that beach, playing in the waves and building sandcastles. The kids absolutely LOVED it!

We also visited Ocean City, Maryland. We introduced the kids to funnel cake and walked along the Boardwalk.

Seagull photobomb!

We found a few games at the beach house, and the Star Wars Stratego game was the big hit haha.

We had such a sweet couple of days away as a family. We are so thankful for the time and the chance to build fun memories. It was a great first beach trip!

{iPhone Rewind} :: June

They have been pulling out this math game on their own...and they think it's fun! I call that a homeschool mom win! ;)

We have a full raspberry harvest!

We're shocked the deer haven't found them yet, and we have been enjoying these sweet treats in our backyard :)

Aiden lost his first tooth! It was an emotional roller coaster of a day {we were excited, and then we were fearful, and then we were sad to lose such a faithful tooth companion, and then we were brave and excited again}, but it finally came out and we geared up for the next one!

Mike ended up with Covid when we got back from Texas, and we did our best to quarantine, but Maddie ended up with a fever and going down for a couple of days. Thankfully it didn't last long, but poor thing was pretty pitiful for a bit...

Eli has really taken an interest in geography recently...I need to brush up on my map skills ;)

Summer is in full swing, and we are loving our time at the pool!

A sweet friend gifted us some Raddish boxes, and we have been enjoying honing our cooking skills

The deer are back! They found the berries in our backyard, and this doe paused long enough for Maddie to wave a "hello!" :)

Watching these two play games is fairly entertaining...the opposite personalities...at least until the frustrations rise ;)

We're doing some math review this summer...can you tell who is the least excited??

We kicked off our Women's Summer Book Club! Love these women and their hearts to stay connected with each other and God's Word :)

Maddie Lost Her First Tooth!

Today was a big day in our house...Maddie lost her first tooth!

A few days ago, Maddie called out to me during nap/rest time, really worried and upset about something. When I went to see what was the matter, she showed me that she had a loose tooth!

She was really nervous about it, unsure of what was going to happen. We talked through what she could expect, as I tried to reassure her that it was not going to hurt, that not all of her teeth would fall out at the same time, and that she would, in fact, be able to eat after she lost just the one tooth :)

It came up several times over those couple of days, but today it was mostly forgotten. And then all of a sudden, I heard Mike say "go show Mommy!" and Maddie came around the corner with a big smile on her face, holding out her lost tooth! She was BEYOND excited. I asked her if it hurt or felt funny, and she was so relieved to say, "Mommy, I thought it would hurt to lose my tooth, but it didn't!"

We are not going to do the Tooth Fairy, but I wanted to have a little surprise to celebrate this big milestone. Unfortunately, I thought we had some more time before it came out, so she is patiently waiting for her surprise to arrive in our Amazon delivery haha.

Losing her tooth is all she can talk about now! She keeps talking about how it happened, when it happened, and what she thinks her fun surprise will be. She is also offering her brothers all the advice on how to lose a first tooth :)

So proud of this brave, beautiful girl! Now I'm off to shed a few tears over how big she's getting so fast...

Sundaes on a Sunday

Today is National Ice Cream Day, so of course, we celebrate in this house! :)

We decided to make our own sundaes, and the kiddos LOVED them. We let Eli and Maddie pick their toppings {which of course, they picked all of them}, and they could hardly contain their excitement while we were building their little sundaes.

This was Aiden's first time to have ice cream, and he was definitely not disappointed. He figured out pretty quickly that the whole ice cream thing was SUPER fun. He wanted every last bit, figuring out that licking the bowl was the only best {and right} option :)

It was a fun treat to have sundaes for snack, and we definitely had some pretty happy kiddos. We enjoyed every bit of our ice cream...down to the last drops :)
