Wegmeyer Farms

Today we met some friends out at Wegmeyer Farms to go strawberry picking! Since we did blueberry picking a couple of summers ago, I have wanted to find other fruits/berries to pick. So I was excited to hear there are several pick-your-own places near us in Virginia. And it was really fun to meet friends :)

It was pretty hot and humid, but it was overcast, which helped. It wasn't crowded at all, and the cicadas were in full song :)

The kiddos LOVED picking berries! It took a little while to catch on that we should only pick the big red ones, but they eventually got the hang of it, and we got a full bucket of really amazing strawberries! The boys were done before we filled our bucket {Eli had a close encounter with a cicada and Aiden was just hot}, but Maddie girl was more than happy to keep picking every last strawberry she saw. And she did really well picking the good ones!

We were so glad that Mrs. Sarah invited us, and the kids loved seeing their new friends. We had so much fun, and right now we have plans to make strawberry popsicles {Maddie's request} and strawberry pancakes {Eli's request}. It was a great value for what we got; we will definitely go back!
