{Pre-Wedding Fun} Chapter 4: Bachelorette Party

I know that I posted a brief summary of the Bachelorette party as part of my wedding week countdown. But I have more pictures and might as well re-live the fun memory, right? :) Of course, I didn't take a single photo the entire week (isn't that crazy??), but I had enough friends and family who were willing and able to do that for me. I haven't actually counted the number of pictures people have shared with me...and the number multiplies when you include the professional photos...but let's just say there are A LOT. But I'm not complaining! I love photos and love that we can have these fun digital memories to always look back on.

So moving on to the fun stuff...

On Tuesday evening, I was able to join 5 of my beautiful bridesmaids for an evening of creative girly fun. We headed over to Painting with a Twist, where we received a painting lesson for the painting "Santorini." They have a relaxed atmosphere, where you can kick off your shoes, grab a glass of wine (or a margarita), and enjoy the class. Here are some pics from while we were waiting for the class to begin...

The studio before all of the students arrived...

Fun snacks (and drinks)

Nicki and Laura...I have such beautiful friends!

I mean seriously, Sami just had a baby. And is just as gorgeous as ever...

The instructor walks you step-by-step through each phase of the painting. And over the course of 2 hours, you have a fun memory to take home with you!

Now, you have to understand that I am not a painter. My creative abilities come to a screeching halt when it comes to anything that requires a writing utensil or brush. My high school art teacher always used to rave at the beginning of the year how she could make an artist out of anyone. "Anyone can draw!"

A good start with the sky...

Nicki fairing pretty well through the sky and water...

Lindsey getting some help from one of the instructors :)

And then my high school art teacher met me. Suffice it to say, at the end of my senior year, she kindly suggested I choose a different career field as I just didn't have what it took to be an artist. Thankfully, I didn't have any aspirations to be one, so it's just a fun story to tell rather than a life-altering event haha. Mrs. Smith, I may not have been the student with the most artistic potential, but I loved your classes anyway, I still love creativity, and I so wish that you could have danced at my wedding...SACS alumni will understand that reference ;)

Anyway, all that to say...even though I bumbled through each stroke and wondered how on earth my painting would ever resemble the instructor's, I had a blast! It was a great opportunity to hang out with my sweet girls. It was a low key and perfect evening.

My MOH and the lovely lady who planned the whole evening...

Nicki flew all the way from Virginia to spend the week celebrating with us!!

Hard at work...

Our masterpieces!

For the record, those are islands in the water, not whales (Mike) LOL ;)

My "Santorini" painting is now proudly displayed in our new house, and it just makes me smile every time I pass it. It's a fun reminder of the sweet friends and fun evening I was blessed with on one of my last nights as a single lady :)
