Mom and Dad

This post gets the Mom and Dad label {instead of the Grandma and Papa label} because my parents came for my birthday! {And yes, I know they also came- mostly- for the grandkids...but I'll take the birthday love wherever I can haha} ;)

This visit coincided with my birthday, which was fun because I got to celebrate with them. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and, of course, cheesecake, and it was just fun to have them here. And of course, the kids didn't mind having another week off from school to just play and have fun!

We had a day or two of warm{ish} weather, so we were able to go on walks and play at the playground. We even got to play a few rounds of Pooh Sticks at our neighborhood pond haha {I'll let you guess who loves that game}.

We headed into D.C. for a day to visit the National Museum of Natural History. The kids have been wanting to visit "the museum with the dinosaurs," so we finally made the trip.  It was a fun day! It got a bit crowded with all the school field trips, but thankfully we were able to see all the exhibits we wanted to and finish up before it got too bad. And most importantly, we saw the dinosaurs!

The rest of the week was spent playing games, reading books, crafting, and just having fun with Grandma and Papa. The one thing Aiden requested to do with Papa? Play army men! So they set up all their troops and had some epic battles :) And it was pretty cute to watch Papa and Eli plan.

We also got to watch the Super Bowl together. We let the kids watch a little of the game, and they actually thought it was super fun. The big entertaining part of the evening? Watching how excited Aiden got at watching the football game! The kid could barely contain his excitement. He hasn't been able to stop talking about football since; he tells me about how he dreams about it haha. To say he loved watching the Super Bowl is an understatement :)

And we even got a short few hours of snow {even a bit more than what is pictured here}. It was just enough for Grandma to catch snowflakes on her tongue with her granddaughter and throw snowballs at her grandsons. It didn't stick around very long, but it was enough to enjoy about an hour of snow fun and create some cute memories.

I'm so thankful for another fun trip with Grandma and Papa. As I look back over these memories, I am grateful that we have so many of these trips over the past year; I realize what a gift that is. I know it may not always be possible to have so many, but I will cherish every one we get. And I know my kids do too. Thank you, mom and dad for another week of fun and memories! We love you, and we miss you!
