Snow Days!

We got snow!

We weren't quite sure if we would see any, but we got a few inches one day, and then got even more the next day. It was enough to play in, build a snowman, and even go sledding. The kids had a blast!

The first day, the kids were up super early because they knew it had started snowing. Aiden came downstairs to tell me he had spotted the snow, and I just didn't have the heart to tell him to go back to bed, so I told him he could snuggle on the couch and watch the snow outside. Next thing I know, he's whisper-yelling to Eli, "Eli! We can snuggle on the couch and watch the snow!" Haha

Yes, I was the mean mom and made them do their school before we could play in the snow. But you know what? They have never been more motivated to get their work done! It was still pretty light, but that didn't stop them. They grabbed all the cups and shovels they could find and had the grandest of times.

Our sweet neighbors let us borrow their sleds, and we got to go sledding! We walked down to the park and used the small hill there, and it was so fun! After all the fun, we got to warm up with some hot chocolate

It snowed overnight, and we woke up to more snow! When we got up, Aiden was so excited that he said, "Mommy! I prayed to God to give us 12 inches of snow and He said yes!" Haha! It wasn't exactly 12 inches {more like 4}, but there was no shortage to play in. The kids made snow angels and a snow man {complete with button eyes and a carrot nose}. And special shout out to the snow plow for dumping the cul de sac snow right in front of our house- really. Because my kids LOVED it.

And then we got the fun gift of more snow on Friday! It wasn't a huge amount, but it basically snowed all day. Enough to make it another fun day of snow angels, and snow ball fights, and sledding. And it makes me grateful for our little Casa on the Court. How we get to see our neighbors out shoveling snow, how they come say hello and get excited for our kids. How they let our kids come sled down their side yard hill. How they offer us Texans advice on the best ways to shovel and how to clear out the drain so we don't have ice at the bottom of our driveway. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of this house and these sweet neighbors.

Such a fun week of snow!
