Social Distancing :: Day 30

We have now been social distancing and sheltering in place for a whole month! It still feels so strange, and while we have definitely settled better into our new "normal," I am not sure what that will look like if we find ourselves still here another 30 days from now...or longer.

This past week was harder for me physically, as I was battling a migraine and then just headaches all week. I also struggle with body aches around this time of year, with the weather yo-yo-ing back and forth. I have wanted to just crawl in bed and hide under the covers all week, and Mike helped me do that some, but little people just don't allow for that. So we did our best to just keep everyone fed and alive, and I am looking forward to feeling better this coming week.

Potty Training Update
Everything fell apart on Sunday...sigh. We had multiple accidents {both kiddos}, and it felt as though we were back at square one. I think we were able to get somewhat back on track this week, but it just reminded me of how this isn't going to be a quick process. We were able to get the kids out on a few short walks, so that was nice to be able to do that again. I am still glad we don't have to make any trips in the car right now...

Outside Time
Even though the weather seemed to be all over the place this week {90s, 40s, sun, rain}, we were still able to spend lots of time outside. I was thankful to get out on a few short walks with the kiddos, and of course, we spent lots of time playing in the backyard. We have a small pond with fountains at the end of our street, and the kiddos love to sit under the trees and watch the water. It's nice that they are entertained by the simple things :)

Good Friday
We are definitely sad not to be celebrating the resurrection in church. But have still tried to spend time focusing on the cross and the anticipation of the empty tomb. Mike had Good Friday off, so we were able to enjoy a nice family day. We read the story of Easter, colored a cross craft, and talked about how Jesus died on the cross for our sins.

After the kiddos went to bed, Mike and I were able to take communion together with our Community Group over a zoom call...together, but not together. We have a few things planned for Easter morning as well, but it will be pretty simple and another day to spend as a family. We might be social distancing, but Easter is not cancelled, and we are excited to celebrate our risen Savior!
