{iPhone Rewind} :: November

So November came and went...not sure how that happened!

The cold weather means the heater and blankets. And it means that Sasha snuggles into "her spot" for the winter!

We have a report program at work that shows random quotes while you are waiting for your report to run {isn't that nice?} and I thought this was a fun one :) #wisdom

We spent a lot of November getting ready for our trip to Crested Butte. I got my hiking boots and my hand warmers...the important things :)

We had a Thanksgiving lunch with some Redeemer friends, and this is the only way to transport queso. Gotta keep it safe!

I made another diaper cake for a sweet co-worker, and I loved the cute little animal cutouts!

We got to celebrate a co-worker and the upcoming arrival of her baby boy. We're going to miss her at work, but we're glad she will be back in a few months!

Winter Getaway

We spent the last week in Crested Butte, Colorado! With the crazy year we have had, we wanted to get away for a little bit, and we had the opportunity to head up to the mountains. We were SO ready for a vacation and some time away, and we had a great week!

This is proof I love my husband :)  Feels like -6...not even kidding.

Mount Crested Butte

We rented a little condo in Mt. Crested Butte, just across the street from the ski resort. It was a great find, and we were thankful for the place we got to stay. It was a great location, nice and warm, and a great space.

We chose Crested Butte because of the mountains and skiing, but also because we got to visit the Winns! This sweet family is a big part of our lives, as Scott has known Mike since he was in high school, was the first person I met at Woodcreek Church, and was the one who married us. Scott is now pastoring Oh Be Joyful church, so we got to visit when we got into town. Mike led worship, and we got to meet the Winns' new church family.

It snowed the first 4 days we were there, so we didn't go out too much. But when the sun came out, we got to walk around town, spend some time with the Winns, and play in the snow.

I may or may not have started and finished Season 3 of Gilmore Girls...

We went skiing on the season's opening day {and on Mike's 33rd Birthday!} Well, I should say that Mike went skiing and I went to ski school :) This was my first time to attempt skiing, so now I can cross it off my list!

Our instructor, "Rick the Hun" was a great teacher...but he definitely had his work cut out for him with me. Let's just say I was the remedial student in the class :) I managed to take out a fence and a class of small children {wish I was kidding}. I am glad I tried, but skiing is definitely not for me. Coordination is not my thing {apparently}, and falling down in the cold snow is just not my favorite. Mike had a great time though, and I'm so glad he had people he could go skiing with, since his wife was terrified of nervous about the ski lift :)

While we missed being with our families for Thanksgiving, we were thankful to spend Thanksgiving with the Winns. It was fun to meet and get to know some of the people they do life with now. We felt so blessed to have time with them, and we are thankful for how the Lord is using them to impact the community of Crested Butte.

We had a great trip, and we are so thankful for the opportunity to get away for a little while!

It's an Executive Assistant Life

Each month, my company sends out an employee newsletter. It's a fun way to see what's going on in other parts {and cities} of the company. They typically do a department spotlight, and this month, the executive assistants were highlighted!

We have never really been a department before. But now that we are 4 strong {ha!} we qualify to be our own entity :)  We often joke that people don't seem to understand what all our job entails. It definitely is a multi-skill position...one that we all enjoy. To keep things fun, I came up with this photo to describe our job:

I am thankful to work with such amazing ladies. They are professional and hard working, but I have grown to develop deep friendships with them. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful colleagues, and they definitely make my job so much better!

{iPhone Rewind} :: October

Not going to lie...I love coming home to flowers waiting from my love :)

The cooler weather means we're starting to use our Nespresso more often...which means yummy pumpkin spice lattes!

We had dinner and a game night with a couple of friends. Mike played a fun cup game with the kids, and we played a fun round of Farkle.

My sweet husband saves chick flicks on our Netflix account for me. He's pretty adorable like that ;)

{Obviously} not an iPhone photo, but one I still wanted to remember/share. We had a Go Pink! campaign at work. Since we were also celebrating birthdays, we decided to grab a group photo. This isn't everyone at corporate, but it's a good representation of most of the departments.

I'm super impressed that my cute dad even knows what a #hashtag is! :)

We went to Woodcreek's Community Block Party and stopped by the International Student Ministry booth to say hi to Laura and David. We had to try to find the country we pre-selected blindfolded...sorry babe, Brazil is not near Russia! (just kidding, he was getting the measurements of the map)

I came home and my sweet husband was making me homemade pretzels! He knows how much I like soft pretzels and decided to make me some. Heart melted.
